Welcome to Flåm Camping
& Youth hostel

At the end of the Sognefjord you will find Flåm Camping and Youth Hostel surrounded by the World Heritage Listed fjordlandscape of Norway. Flåm is a good starting point for everyone looking for genuine, natural and cultural experiences. We are situated 300 meters from great attractions like The Flåm railway, The Navvies´ Bicycle Road, and the boats which takes you to the Nærøyfjord with its steep, tall mountains and mysterious dark, depths.

Your hosts: 2 generations Family Håland

We, Marte and John Håland are the third generation running Flåm Camping and Youth Hostel. We live here with our three children all year round. John’s parents are working and living here as well.

It all started in 1972 when Johns grandparents, Nelly and Knut, hosted the first camping guests. The run a farm with goats and sheeps which was very common in those days.
Over the years more tourists visited Flåm and the need for more cabins and rooms grew.

From 1985 to 2010 Johns parents, Gjetrud and Erling Håland, built and developed the camping ground and hostel to what it is today. Their focus on quality, cleanliness and being good hosts has given the company a solid reputation.

Although we are not farming anymore we like to keep some sheeps, goats and hens. Don’t be suprised if you see John on the street with his bike in fron of a sheep herd.
